New Features Featured Here

...and now I've gone and confused myself with the title.

I wanted to take a moment to really go over some of the newer features of my blog with my readers.  I feel I did not really spend all that much time letting everyone know what was about to be happening here, and then boom-bam-bang, the navigation bar changed.  New pages were added, and the names looked a little weird.  So please bear with me as I attempt to better explain myself.

Before I delve into what has changed, please allow me a moment to discuss something that will quite probably be changing very soon.  The link to get here is "weildgirl.blogspot.com" because when I first set it up, I typed "weildgirl" in the incorrect box.  I left it alone at the time.  I am still keeping the name, but due to the fact that the actual title of the blog has apparently been taken for someone else's web-address, I will be tweaking the name here slightly... adding numbers.  Please do not freak when you see this.  It's simply a novelty item.  On to the meat of the blog.

In recent months, I have struggled a little because I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE to write, but I am bored easily by the mundane day-to-day journal, and would prefer it be more interactive than that.  Furthermore, I have felt for quite some time now that I needed more stimulation from the world around me.  Having realized wha the missing pieces were in my life, I sped to the local library to check out several books I had been remotely interested in.  I've been reading (as regularly as possible)...and well... writing is my "thing" that I've always done well, so reading stimulates that and ideas are created more easily, and so forth.  I've had a lifestyle makeover recently is the nice way to put it.  And this is what came of it:

Tutorials - It is probably a little-known fact to those outside of my family, but I am almost completely self-taught in creating computer graphics as well as everything else I do online (this includes, but is not limited to the creation of and the HTML codes for the lovely background(s) you see when on my page).  I want to share my knowledge with the rest of the world.  I hope that it helps you guys out.  Publish Day: Monday

Words - Words is the "abbreviation" of Painted Words.  These are my publication (books, magazines and / or their articles, etc.) reviews.  In order to further my learning of the world around me as well as to better myself and not spend 24/7 online or cleaning my home, I am reading as much as possible.  The "reward" for reading books (including the ones I am skeptical about) is being able to review it.  I would like for everyone to view my reviews with an open mind.  The reason for this is that I am (as I've stated) a bit of a skeptic when it comes to some things.  I would really hate for you to read my blog and think, "Laura hated this book.  That's it.  It's terrible.  That writer is horrible.  I'll never read another book by him/her."  Instead, I would rather you view my reviews as simply one person's opinion of some other writer's arduous - and difficult - work.  Publish Day: Sunday

Reel - Reel is the abbreviation of Dealin' Reel (a play on words from the phrase "real deal").  This will be my movie review section.  Movies, TV, DVDs... they have all played a big part in my life.  I suppose that for me, this is one of the ways I have learned as much as I have about the world outside of my own little bubble.  It really taught me a lot about people.  Again, please read with an open mind.  I'm just an opinionated little sass with something to say.  Publish Day: Saturday

Music - This is Musical Memoirs.  Basically I post a YouTube music video of the song I want to discuss along with the lyrics.  Afterward, I talk about what the song means to me...  This will also be a section for some of the "phenomenal-in-my-opinion" band reviews.  Publish Day: Friday

Featured - (doesn't have a page just yet as it is new) This will be where I will review other bloggers, their blogs, etc.  Publish Day: Tuesday

Plain Jane Blog aka Home button - Usual blog, updates, personal news, etc. will be posted in the main blog once weekly, and whenever I have free-time.  Publish Day: Wednesday

Each review / tutorial / feature will be posted in the main blog.  However, if you visit one of the links above, you will find a list of each corresponding article on the appropriate page(s).  I am hoping this will make it somewhat more convenient for everyone.  I hope that covers everything.
