Sonic Showdown (a silly vent)

Today, I'd like to hear from my readers.  Any of you.  Because I want to know that I'm not alone.  And yes, it is perfectly okay to laugh at me and to get a giggle out of this, because I'm sure I'll laugh hysterically about it myself... some day.  Because it is kind of stupid.

So here's the question of the day:  Have any of my readers ever had that something stupid that for whatever reason(s), it just made you angry, pissed you off, etc.?

Now for the example:

I hate Sonic.  I really do.  It's not that Sonic is bad.  Or that their food is nasty or anything like that.  Let's go through my list of reasons, very quickly in no particular order -
  1. I cannot order any meal at all from there with the secure knowledge that I will not be wearing it by the time I leave.  Is there really any point beyond the 50s charm for us to be eating this stuff in our vehicles?
    • All sandwiches come in this wrapper which could better be referred to as a diaper that will attempt to catch whatever you don't want falling out.
    • The diaper becomes your "plate"... it's just not big enough to hold whatever's falling out widely enough to protect unsuspecting clothing which will be subjected to yet another wash when you arrive home.
  2. Mom.  Bless her heart.  She worked so hard to make sure we saved money.  This meant that she was the person who had to find ways for us to have fun...for cheap.  The unfortunate down-side is that earlier today, I had a full Sonic meal for the very first time since I remember there being a Sonic around.  Why?  With Mom, it needs to be as cheap as possible.  No appetizer.  If you want dessert, you should probably just pick one of the flavored sweet drinks from the dessert menu... just don't expect her to pay for a coke with your order.  Nope.  You thirst for the rest of the evening until arriving home because if you bite into that sandwich and suddenly need something to drink... you've got ICE CREAM!!  Yet, you don't order a coke instead of the dessert drink because...well... you're human and everyone else came to Sonic for the flavored drink and their absolutely astonished that you want so much food instead.
  3. First boyfriend.  This was one of the last places I visited with him.  Unpleasant experience.
  4. When Sonic first became known to me, I was in highschool.  I was the only person in my class not driving... and everyone else had these wonderful good-morning greetings to share about how "Did I see you driving into Sonic?!  Wow, aren't their *insert breakfast item* so good!!"  I got left out because I hadn't been to Sonic (too expensive) and couldn't drive yet...
So yeah... all those things... and so much more pretty much ruin the experience for me.  I cannot consider visiting a Sonic without just getting ticked off at it's existence.  I like their food well enough (when it does not become a new fashion trend) but I don't know...  Just wondering if anyone else has ever experienced something similar?

  1. I've gotten upset over things and connected that to specific places/experiences...but I don't think to the degree you are talking about.

  2. Good for you. You do not over-analyze things like I do, I suppose. Lol. Something I'm trying to conquer.

  3. Lol, I wish I do over analyze thing. I guess that I just meant that I haven't had the same struggles that you are talking about in this post.
