News and Apologies

I wanted to go ahead and make my apologies now by way of telling some news.

Over the last week or two, I have been re-vamping the blog a great deal in the hope of blogging daily for awhile.  I have one "segment" if you will scheduled per day, so that once weekly, I review music, a book, a movie, and do a tutorial on something, as well as reviewing others' blogs.

Well, this past week, my husband and his shipmates had to PT (physical training) a couple of days in the pouring rain.  By Wednesday night, hubby was sniffling and had a sore throat.  On Thursday morning, I dropped him off at Navy Tours (he walks to work every morning from there) amid the storms and the tornado watches.  That afternoon, I got a call from him on someone else's phone, and I naturally assumed that his phone had no battery power, and drove to get him.  Instead of the battery dying on him, as he had been walking in to work, some idiot drove through a deep (but still easily avoidable) mud puddle, soaking him head to foot.  Everything got wet.  His phone... his iPod.  Fortunately, the iPod still pretty much works.  The phone, not so much.  To cap off the perfect day, he reached the ship and was asked, "Didn't you know you're supposed to be on watch?"  No...  Guess where he had watch?  Say it with me: In.  The.  Rain.

Tmobile replaced Drew's ruined phone for free.  In addition, I was due an upgrade, which I also got for free :D.  Now...for the sad part.  My husband is about to be underway (non-deployment) for circa three weeks.  During this underway, his ship is scheduled to go certain places I've been trying to get the money to go to for the last YEAR!!  I don't know whether to be jealous or pissed or both.  Last but not least... it's likely that for the very first time since we've lived together, he has given me his cold...

So... I'm in a bit of a "muddled world" at the moment because I have a limited supply of meds that I'm trying to use sparsely.  Please excuse me if I miss a few blogs/reviews that have been promised and I will get caught up ASAP.

  1. hope you are getting better… sore throat is not a lot of fun its just uncomfortable and difficult to swallow.

usually, i would take the Nim Jiom Cough Syrup (www.geocities.jp/ninjiom_hong_kong/index_e.htm ) which has a thick consistency formulation. it coats the throat and includes herbs that are particularly good for that application.

i hope it works on you as well.
