Sadly, I have been unable to blog the past few days due to cleanliness. I must admit that I am rather a weird version of OCD. I like to have everything in it's place, but, in order to get it that way, it has to get a bit dirty. This way it takes longer to clean at any one time.
This cleaning spree was a bit different than others, though. It was a de-clutter event. This is something my mom did repeatedly throughout my childhood. Daddy and I are hoarders sometimes...so we had to go through the junk from time to time. The problem is that sometimes, I consider useless junk to have sentimental value. Odd though it may seem. Often, I find that I have to make a decision to throw something out, but I have to keep it for a few more weeks before I actually can. I'm trying to get rid of this particular habit.
I look around myself and I wonder, how did we end up 'needing' all of this stuff in the first place?? I've been trying to get rid of 'junk' ever since a couple years ago. Slow process, but still. But they say that each bad habit must be replaced with a good one. So far, we've replaced the clutter with books, DVDs, and 3D puzzles. I can honestly say that lately, I've learned so much more just by replacing the clutter with books than I used to.
We still have a lot to get rid of, and I'm hoping to be able to pass some of it along to friends who want or need it, but anywho...
